An Early History of the Ohio State University Department of Dance: Images from the Helen Alkire Archive

After Helen Alkire's retirement as the dance department's first chairperson in 1983, an effort was made to properly archive her personal collection of images and artifacts from 40 years of dance at OSU. The result was a CD-ROM, full of images starting in the 1930's when Helen was a student in the physical education program through the 1970's when she was the guiding hand of the OSU department of dance.

In 2006, the CD-ROM was recreated for the web and is viewable here. The images presented are comprehensive of the original research product, showing performances and master classes taught by visiting artists at OSU between 1965 and 1969.
